Tru Student, Inc. has a responsibility to protect from disclosure to unauthorized parties the personally identifiable information (PII) of its website users. Therefore, Tru Student has adopted and implemented a website security policy to outline practices followed to protect the account information of its website users.

Tru Student will not sell, trade, or disclose personally identifiable information of its website users to any unauthorized third parties.

Data Quality and Access

Tru Student takes all steps possible to ensure that the data on its Web sites is accurate. If information is found to be inaccurate, Tru Student will make every effort to correct the issue as quickly as possible. Any change to your user account may not be reflected on the website until the following business day.

Tru Student uses cookies to enhance its registered users’ website experience. A cookie is a small file that is stored on users’ hard drives. When borrowers use features on the Tru Student website that involves the transfer of personally identifiable information, Tru Student requires that a secure connection first be established using 128-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology provided by VeriSign©. During a secure SSL session, data passed between users’ computers and Tru Student’s servers is secured through the use of public key cryptography. The users’ computers exchange key information with Tru Student’s computers to create private conversations that only the users’ computers and Tru Student’s systems understand. To benefit from this security and to use many of the features on the Tru Student site, users need to download a 128-bit enabled browser from Microsoft, Mozilla, or another software company.

When users send email messages to Tru Student, the return addresses may be used to respond to the inquiries. The content and addresses contained in the messages may be permanently recorded so they can be referenced in future communications between borrowers and Tru Student. Email is not a secure means of transmitting information. Do not use any personally identifiable information in email correspondence (such as your SSN).
